Prologue: Our Lady of Sorrows

Mere’ Marie, abbess of the monastery of Our Lady of Sorrows, has spent three hundred years there as a prisoner accused of murdering her youngest son. Now her former husband has killed his second wife, who confessed to the murder, and Marie is free to resume her life in the 21st Century outside the monastery. Part mortal, two thirds immortal, she must pick up the pieces of her life and try to avoid killing the man who sent her to prison.
